Rig and Sails

The rig can be bought but, built it is much more fun.

On an IOM class sailboat the mast and booms must be made of aluminum.

Aluminum working is not an easy job, so I choose to make the rig out of KITE carbon tubes.

These tubes are easy to acquire on any kites shop and are very inexpensive too.

On an IOM you should can use 3 type of rigs, nº1, nº2 and nº3 160 cm mast height for the nº1, 120 and 80 for the nº2 and 3

The carbon tubes can be joint using carbon tissue and epoxy glue in an easy way.
