Fin and Rudder

These components are very important on a sailboat, without them the boat would not be upright on the water and would be impossible to control.

The fin acts like an airplane wing it carries the ballast and wile moving on the water it should create a down force so the mas is kept in a vertical position. The fin should be thin so it doesn´t causes too much drag.

On this boat I used bass wood and carbon tubes on the fin.

The rudder is what makes the boat controllable, it acts like an airplane rudder but instead of working at an high speed it works on a slow speed. Due to the water´s density the rudder should be thin and not cause too much drag.
